The Ant and the Dove

One day a dove flies through the sky. She sees a river. So, she flies to the river to drink the water. She is thirsty. She drinks the water. It is so refreshing. Then she sees a small ant. The ant walks next to the river. His home is on the shore of the river. But then the ant falls into the river. The ant can’t swim. The ant is floating away. So, the dove looks for a tree branch. She bites the tree branch to pick it up. She leaves one end of the tree branch on the shore. Then she puts one end of the tree branch in the river. The tree branch is next to the ant. The ant grabs the tree branch. He walks up the tree branch. He walks back to the shore. The ant says, “Thank you, Dove!” The Dove says, “You’re welcome.” The dove flies away. Then the ant goes back to his home. Days pass. One day, the ant walks out of his home. He sees the river. He sees the dove on the shore. He says, “Hello Dove! It’s good to see you again.” The dove doesn’t hear him. The ant walks closer to the dove. Then the ant sees a man behind the dove. The dove doesn’t see the man. The man wants to catch the dove! The ant quickly walks up to the man. The ant bites the man’s foot. The man shouts, “Ow!” He jumps up. The dove is surprised. She hears the man shout. She flies away. The end.

In this story, the dove helps the ant. She saves his life. Then the ant has a chance to help the dove. Kindness is one of the most difficult things to give away, because it comes back to you.
