The Frogs and the Boys
Two frogs swim in the lake. It’s a perfect day to swim. There is no wind, and the water is smooth and calm. The frogs race each other. One frog says, “Do you see the big tree? Let’s swim over there. I will get there first!” The other frog says, “No, I will get there first. I am faster than you!” The frogs start swimming. Then they see something big in the sky. It is coming closer. It is bigger and bigger. It is a rock! The rock falls into the lake with a big splash. The rock falls into the lake next to the frogs. One frog says, “Look out, it’s a wave!” The rock pushes a wave of water over the frogs. Then the frogs see something else in the sky. It is coming closer. It is another rock! One frog says, “Look out, it’s another rock!” The other frog swims out of the way. The rock falls into the lake. The frogs say, “Where are the rocks coming from?” One frog says, “Look, two boys are throwing the rocks!” The other frog says, “We need to stop the rocks.” He shouts to the boys, “Please stop! We cannot swim!” The boys hear the sound of the frogs. One boy says, “Hey! I see frogs in the lake!” The boys stop throwing the rocks. They say, “Let’s go see the frogs!” The end.
In this story, the boys are having fun. They like to throw rocks into the lake. But it’s scary for the frogs. They cannot swim. Sometimes, fun isn’t fun for everyone.
